Cot death or sudden infant death syndrome
(SIDS), means the death of an apparently
healthy baby, almost always during sleep.
It is most common in the winter months, and
strikes more boys than girls.
In July 1996 scientists reported that
children with parents that smoked during
pregnancy have more chance of dying through
cot death.
